Red Evening (a poem of inspiration)

Updated on December 30, 2015
The evening's magic hour...
The evening's magic hour...
The sun's majesty and its power...
The sun's majesty and its power...
As evening's creatures call and light descends...
As evening's creatures call and light descends...
Darkness falls...daylight ends...
Darkness falls...daylight ends...
a magic time...this evening's spell...
a magic time...this evening's spell...

Burning in the evening sky...red sun's light,

Soon follows the dark of night.

The last rays, a mere fraction,

Of the mighty starlight's faction, all so bright.

Sent to earthen sod, by the hand of God...

To light our way and nourish all.

The sparkling orb, is ours to absorb...

Life giving source, to great and small.

Shadows fall, wild creatures call...

Announcing the changing hour.

The moon's round face...night time's grace...

From its grandest bower.

The blackness and chill, lone loon's, shrill...

Adds a dreamland fancy, across the hill.

As galaxies send, their message... an amen,

In answer to this majesty, the evening's kin.

I'm not a very poetic person but I do sometime enjoy reading it. The pictures are beautiful and I liked your poem.

"Amen in answer to his majesty." You do a great of describing natural settings and ascribing the glory to God. I like that.

I love the beautiful colors that sunset brings. Watching the hues appear, blend and swirl is like watching a painter bring life to an empty canvas.

      Your photos are beautiful, whonu!

Thank you friend. Bless you as the evening comes.

I am looking at stars and shadow as I write this. Your images are wonderful. A great way to get ready for peaceful sleep.
