Red Tape

Updated on December 6, 2011

Red Tape

I don't want any problems

I don't want any trouble

Should you stumble

In the parking lot

On the hard rock

Of my hearts double

And get stuck

Between a hard place

You've been warned

You cut the red tape

With out concern

Walk this way

To avoid potholes

And falling boulders

That roll from shoulders

Of a man scorned

Avalanches break branches

To leave your clothes

Tattered and torn

You patiently mend

A heart battered and worn

A quilt sewn

To keep you warm

If you press on

I don't want to

Hurt anybody

'Tho pleasure is pain

I refrain to advance

And reciprocate

That which you

Give me freely

Don't be stubborn

I release thee

You love a challenge

But love is easy

There is a fork

In the road that

Leads to me

Proceed with caution

I wait at a table

To break bread

When you are hungry

When you are satisfied

You feed me

Ya feel me..
