Reflection - The 36th Good Word in the Good Words Project.

Updated on June 14, 2020

Reelections - 36th Good Word

The "Good Words" project, created by Jo_Goldsmith11, Jo gives us a good word each week to reflect on and practice living by, to help and inspire her fellow hubbers, to become the best writers we can be.

And I reaffirm my pledge to write a poem for every word in the "Good Word Project," some Hubbers like Maria (Marcoujor) have taken the baton and twirled it all around and I truly hope that others will join in also.

Faith - Hope -Love

Reflection on the Good Words from 1-8

Now is the time we must reflect

On all the good words

To keep them up to date

This is like half a semester exam

For the first 8 weeks of the Good Words

A reflection if you will

Of how we’ve practiced each good word

How we have honed our skill

Love is where we will start

So we can see just where we are

Reflecting on the Good Words

Given us thus far

1. Love

Reflections of love to light the stars

Shining brightly in our hearts

It is contagious

Once the practice starts

2. Faith

When you reflect on your faith you will not be misled

By the unkind things that others said

Have faith in your heart when all hope is forgotten.

My Granddaughter Krissy says

3. Inspiration/inspire

Reflections to inspire everyone to be more

Than they ever thought they could be

Practice inspiration in every way you can

That is one sure way to lend a helping hand

Bear visits Santa and his helper

Bear Visiting Santa

4. Strength

Reflect the Strength to always take a stand

To fight for what is right

And demand that there be justice in our land

Remember God has the greater plan

5. Energy

Reflections of Energy

Energy is the fuel for our 'light 2 love'

A light that's given to everyone of us

With God's everlasting Love

7. Hope

Reflect on Hope when you feel like giving up

And it seems there is no hope in sight

Then become an author Pick up your pen and write

Writing brings your problems out into the light

There are a lot of folks who can relate and will see you through you plight

6. Peace

Reflections of Peace

praying that all dissention will cease

If everyone would do this

Then all the problems of the world would surely decrease

8. Courage

Reflect on courage, it isn't hard to do

Just know that to stand for what is right

Will always see you through

Then you will find those that have no courage

Are really very few

Hope people will reflect on why they voted for Trump in the first place. Nothing his supporters have said so far makes any sense. Maybe if they knew what 'facts' are, and didn't equate that word as being a commy-pinko word simply because they don't understand it, they might think diffeently.

We have made the first changes to getting rid of Trump. Let's hope they hold up so we can begin raising the U.S. up out of the shithole countries designation.

Yesterday 1400 people died in the U.S. from Covid-19. The day before (Wednesday) 1800 died in the U.S. of Covid-19. Biden has already started putting plans together to get control of this virus along with scientists and expert medical people who are advising Biden and will be ready to get their plans going as soon as Biden is sworn in. Unfortunate that so many people are going to die between now and Jan. 20, 2021 because Biden doesn't have authority to do anything yet and selfish hateful Trump doesn't care how many people die. He's proven that many times already.

Biden is gearing up so he can reverse as many of Trump's administrative edicts as quickly as possible. Hopefully the days of 4 or more Trump disasters per day are over at last. Have talked to several other people who agreed that just trying to keep up with all the crap was wearing us all out.

Maybe once we all get a peaceful sleep for the first time in 4 years we'll be able to reflect and make permanent changes to laws so a Trump poutus will be unlikely to ever happen again. (No, I didn't mispell it.) Have never seen such a spoiled rich brat before in my life. Thing is, he's not really rich. That will probably come out when all this other stuff gets resolved and the dust settles.

Posting this to AH & FB.

Hope all is well with you and that you and Walter will manage to keep avoiding the Covid until it can finally be controlled. Blessings, dear friend . . .

I wonder if any of the Trump supporters realize that everything Trump says and does "reflects" on out country and on each of us whether we support him or his actions/words or not. Of course it reflects triply on his supporters.

The rest of the world hates him. Even those dictators

Trump reveres hate him and consider him a buffoon. They haven't had the good fortune before, of being able to so easily manipulate another leader to get what they want by merely flattering him/her.

In reflection, itt is impossible to state just how far this country has fallen in the eyes of the world since Trump took over. I doubt we can ever recover our stature and respect in my lifetime if ever.

Hope all is well with you dear friend. Take care . . .

Seems like it's been hundreds of years since Obama was president. I remember how upset many people were that a black man had become president and lots of them still like to blame him for everything --- including the screwups of the current so-called president. Obama had a Republican Congress that obstructed everything he tried to do, so if anything got done it was due to the Republican congress voting to enact it. So if anyone is unhappy with anything at all that happened during the Obama Administration, they can thank their Republican Congress for passing it into law.

Can you believe what they are doing to little children for choosing parents who would migrate to the U.S.? These little children will be marked for life as a result of having been ripped away from their parents. I heard the other day one woman was nursing her baby and they ripped it away from her. I wonder if these people realize what evil they are doing and that one day they will answer for it?

And if it's not bad enough little children are being taken from their parents, they are then incarcerated in cages like animals! And all because some people want them to learn the error of choosing the WRONG parents.

Can there be so many psychopaths -- people who have no ability to empathize or have compassion? If they have these abilities there is no way they could take little children from their parents and put them in cages like dogs or chickens.

I guess it should be no surprise that a country that treats it's active duty military people and it's veterans so terrible, would also treat children like things rather than people

After treating our veterans and active duty military people badly, and now treating immigrants and their little children like subhumans at best, people wonder, "Why can't we all just get along???"

Do you think putting these people who can't figure out the answer to that question, putting them into little cages away from everyone and everything they know, would help them to discover the answer? Or, as I suspect, are these people simply incapable of learning or understanding the simplest things, meaning there is no hope they will ever figure out the answer.

After taking these little children away from their parents, and by little I mean babies to age 12 or so, but especially the babies and toddlers, these heartless people dare to look down on people like Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein, somehow imagining themselves to be better.

Abusing people, any people, just because one can, is egregious no matter what excuse one manufactures in their own mind to make it seem acceptable and even desirable.

Perhaps this outrage of removing little children from their parents needs some reflection by everyone. Those who are taking the children away, and those who are enabling them to do so by standing by and remaining silent, or worse, condoning and even encouraging it.

Hope you are coping well with this horrible hot weather that seems to never end and that all is well with you. Blessings dear friend. Know that I appreciate all that you do. Take care . . .

I know Christmas is almost here and I have nothing done, and New Year around the corner, but which corner?

I was going to call you earlier, but got busy and wrapping B-day present for Walter and getting ready for game tonight.

Blessings and hugs right back to you dear friend.

Great thought so well expressed here. Reflection is important so that we can see where we've been, if we've achieved our purpose or if we need to revisit and complete what we started, or perhaps change our strategy . . .

So hard to believe Christmas is just 3 weeks from today. And a New Year is just around the corner! Hope you and John are enjoying these pretty days we're having. Blessings to you dear friend . . .

Kevin, thank you for the comments, compliment, thumbs up and thank you for the correction. (I have corrected the misspelling) but the word and switched the word with would (i.e. would surely) meaning I am sure that the problems would cease.

You are such a wonderful friend.

      Blessings and Hugs

Bless you Shy in this new year and forward.

Voted up, useful, awesome, and interesting.

That was nice Shyron and I agree with that entirely except for a typo. Under "Peace" you have 'surly' and I figured out what you meant but the meaning of the word that is there does not go good with your meaning. I rated this a high tumbs up, shared it and pinned it.

Reflection, or taking inventory of one's life and current situation can help a person determine if they're going the right way. It can also help put a new or modified plan together to keep going the desired way. Agree with your other commenters, also.

A great poem for this time of year when a new year is about to begin and refection can help a person decide how to begin the rest of their life.

Merry Christmas! Hugs and blessing to you and John -- one can never have too many . . .

      Dear Shyron,

You and Jo have been beacons of inspiration with the Good Words project in I REFLECT back on this year, I have loved working on the project.

In keeping with Jo's latest mantra of 'out with the old and in with the new', I PROMISE to hold close the friends I have made along the way (like you...!!) and to follow what exciting new projects are on the horizon for everyone.

It will be exciting to see the whole series published at some point this year in e-book form as well.

Merry Christmas to you and yours. Love and hugs, Maria
