Releasing That Aching Heart(Yet Again)

Updated on February 28, 2014
Source

Today might be raining outside

But inside the sun is shining

Simplicity is implied

And now the moon and stars are realigning.

Then you smiled at me

From halfway across the world

And there showed faith unapologetically,

And my head was in a swirl.

(For all to see)

The strings of my heart

Released my soul once more,

Yet we are a world apart

But it rocks me to the core.

Faded photographs and little sundries

Once meant nothing to me.

Walks in the park crossed my mind on Sundays,

And for once a sunny life was yet to be.

The dark clouds have disappeared from view

Replaced by silly thoughts anew.

And now I’m thinking of old songs once more,

And gliding feet across the floor.

Because you made me see where I was lost,

Stuck inside old memories where I was faded.

The brightness of the colors now embossed

My life now bright, no longer shaded.

The power of suggestion may it be

Swirling up and beneath my feet.

I can see my world in new ways like never before

And the taste of love was never so sweet.

Faded photographs and little sundries

Once meant nothing to me.

Walks in the park crossed my mind on Sundays,

And for once a sunny life was yet to be.

You took my lonely, buried heart

And made it whole again.

And even though we’re apart

We're no longer playing solitaire.
