Reluctant Robin ( a poem to inspire)

Updated on April 22, 2015
Reluctant Robin..do your Spring Dance...
Reluctant Robin..do your Spring Dance...
Its Spring...get up sleepy heads...
Its Spring...get up sleepy heads...
Time to smell the sweet flowers...
Time to smell the sweet flowers...
Warmer days ahead...
Warmer days ahead...

Red Robin...dancing your annual Spring ballet,

Making yourself quite at home, as if to say...

"I'm here...time to get up and smell the daisies",

"Get up sleepyheads, and get rid of those Lazies!"

You pretend to hide behind the new grapevine,

Taking your time...no care, if not a line to rhyme.

Your live and sing for today, live your life, as to play,

Not a worry for tomorrow...what your critics may say.

When I see your flight, the radiance found in your sight,

An uplifting in my spirit, I find, to make my day, sublime.

Means a new season is here, one so bright, of good cheer,

Then out of my bed, I climb, it's sunshine and warming time.

It's Spring...good cheer and brighter days ahead...
It's Spring...good cheer and brighter days ahead...

I think Spring is my favorite season. When I lived in a colder climate than I do now, seeing the first robin was a sure sign of Spring.

I can relate to the sight of a bird pulling me out of bed. Beautiful message in beautiful lines.
