Remember Me, I’ll Remember You

Updated on September 4, 2015

Remember me

as I will remember you

my summer love so true

you are the sun to me

the days so happy and bright

your kisses like sweet strawberries

your eyes as blue

as the sky above

remember me

as I will remember you

when the autumn winds

come blowing in

our summer will always remain

in a special place in my heart

it will be written in the stars

when the autumn moon shines

that once there was you

and once there was me

together we had a love

in the lazy summertime

picnics with the scent

of flowers and newly mown grass

drifting all around

dances on the seashore

and tender kisses

as waves rippled about

remember me

as I will remember you

watching as the waves

wash away our love letters in the sand

perhaps when the winter comes

remembering these days

will bring a warm glow to your heart

to remember me

as I will remember you

Beautiful Gypsy! I love how you describe love through the seasons and love letters in the sand. It's really just a beautiful image. Thanks for sharing!

Another lovely poem Rasma, and the Elvis song was the icing on the cake. I voted for you as best poet in the Hubby Awards because I always feel good after reading your poetry, unfortunately you didn't win. Maybe next year.

I like it. I like it. Sweetness of summer romances ended too soon but not to be forgotten.

Where has he gone that you are remembering him? Break up !!!!

Purpose is nostalgia for the lover but the poem is on nature. Seasonal nature is vividly and animatedly described.

Gypsy your poem of love simply drives us crazy.... What an expression of love it is.... the heaven, the earth and the seasons in between have been beautifully covered, what else one can think of love?

Your title of the poem instantly reminded me of the Quran which says the same:

.... Remember Me and I will remember you... (chapter 2: Verse 152). Thanks for sharing and reminding me Gypsy. May God bless you.

I always looked forward to summer love when I was in high school. Why did it always have to end?
