Rest In Peace, with Love

Updated on July 11, 2014

Today there's sorrow

Along with pain

Tomorrow, I fear

Will feel the same

I long for you

And your return

To heaven you go

As I pray and mourn

The angels sat beside you

The day you left my side

The souls of those who've passed

Guided you away

Wrapped in the arms of the angels

Rescued by the Lord

I've come to grips with salvation

You're suffering no more

I look above

And I see your face

I close my eyes

And feel your presence

I sit alone

Breathe your scent

I feel, I'm not alone

Again

For the words, I've never told you

For the things, you've never seen

I hope you hear everything

I say,as I now come clean

Forgive me for the times I've strayed

Forgive me for my lies

Forgive me for the moments I didn't cherish

While you were still alive

The moments I took for granted

The moments we shared a laugh

The moments I was stuck

You led me on the right path

You'll never be forgotten

I'll talk to you now and then

Wait for me at heaven's gate

When my time comes about its fate

You are beautiful, divine

One of a kind

And now you can share it

With God

Rest in peace

Wherever you are

Watch over us

Near or far

Through hard times

Through the best

Through the victories

Through the tests

In love you'll be remembered

Rest In Peace

Lovely, moving piece of work. I could feel the sadness and regret but it's written with lots of love all throughout. Voted up :)
