Entrance to solitude ....poem

Updated on April 23, 2014

In man's subconscious soul there was
a place
where dreams were
born

Where images of innocence
lay open
exposed
and untorn

The chance you take
when you open
the package
how much remained

This package not for
the weak or impulsive
not played with
not gamed

But had you nurtured
nourished
caressed and
cherished

That dream would not
have died
disappeared
perished

You created drama
discourse
you tasted blood
prodded
poked

You left the dream
near death
the passion wilted
choked

Was he just weak
a fool or worse
an emotional
prude

Then why did you just
drop him off at
the entrance
to solitude
