Revolutionary Reconstruction: A Metamorphosis

Updated on December 11, 2011

Revolutionary Reconstruction

I drank from the cup
Full of falsity
I ate from the vine
Poignant poison

Surrounded by faces
Of hate and distaste
Drinking and eating
Fatal feast

I bathed in the glory
Untouchable
I toweled off with the feeling
Underwhelming

Consumed and all-consuming
By hate and distaste
Bathing and drying
Lethal lather

Clean and full
Dirty and starving

The cup is empty
The vine dried up
The bath void of water
The towel thrown in the corner

But…
Cups become vases with sweet smells
Vines become wreaths welcoming all
Tubs become planters with healing herbs
Towels become blankets providing warmth

I realize
I hold
What they never
Will, the will
To be full again

Loved this. The way you built it up towards the end was awesome.
