Riding through the night (poem)

Updated on June 19, 2013

Tired and cold, I stumble through the mist

Faded street lamp’s light a path to where I’m led by a drift

Scattered mind but curious, I co-operate

Unsure of what my eyes will find, can I be sure to tolerate

Almost certain I’m distancing away in my sleep

I fear that this cold will soon become the death of me

I feel abandoned by my life as the light’s become dimmer

Lost and emotional as the mist start’s to grow thicker

The surface I walk upon is no longer smooth

I’m in an edgy state of mind, also I’m confused

Is this a dream that I wander so lost in

Searching for a way out, convinced that I’m locked in

Like a convict, I’m restricted from the light

A broken man relying on hope as he’s riding through the night.

Powerful symbolism to drive the emotion home.

      Outstanding creative poetry my friend.
