Rise in love

Shaloo Walia is an astrologer and tarot reader. She is an Art of Living teacher and also an ardent Krishna devotee and a follower of ISKCON.

Love is in the air,

Roses, chocolates and teddies for the maiden fair.

Looking at life through rose-tinted glasses

Feeling like a princess revelling in all the advances.

Love- Is it going to last forever?

Living in fantasies, does this thought cross ever?

The promise to be together till death do us part

Not even an inkling that he will break my heart.

Shattered dreams, why he left I have no clue.

Pleading and begging, there’s nothing more I can do.

Self-pity and inadequacy is all I feel

My confidence, my pride, how could he steal?

Love is in the air, it’s all a sham

Tears of loneliness and you’ve only yourself to blame.

Love without expectations, don’t lose yourself in love

Falling in love is absurd, instead rise in love!

I agree aviannovice. Relationship needs both the partners to work equally at it.

A relationship is truly a partnership, and if both cannot pull their fair share it just won't last.

@Dana Love can bring out the best or the worst in a person.

Yes, I like the message rise in love. And you are correct. Love is supposed to bring out the best in us but if we are not careful it can also make us bitter in the heart. We must choose love wisely.

@Missy Love should make us a better human being yet love somehow brings out the worst qualities like jealousy, anger, insecurity etc. in us. And this is what Guruji preaches- Rise in love!

I think having several instances of losing myself in love; your Guruji is correct, " Don't fall in love. Rise in love." That is some very good advice. It is very wise advice. I loved the poem Swalia. I relate to it well. :)

      Thank you manatita!

My Guruji says 'Don't fall in love. Rise in love!' He further elaborates that when love blows, it is anger: when it ferments, it is jealousy; when it flows, it is compassion and when it glows, it becomes bliss.
