Robert Johnson (The Ballad Of...)

Updated on November 24, 2015

It was all about the blues
When I stepped into the shadows
For I had sold my soul
And there was him... this man

He told me he'll teach me all
I will walk between the paths
The crossroads to change my life
I will play the guitar like no other
Would this man... ENTER MY HEART

I welcome him deep inside
And the price will be high
Never thought of consequences
FOR I WANT TO BE THE BEST

Let my hands
Speed across the instrument
When I meet them all again
They will hear the devil howling
From my voice

YOU WILL HEAR THE DEVIL IN ME

I'm not afraid
To accept his bargain
And I shall sink deep in the abyss
And to go through the shadows of hell
I shall beg on bended knees
TEACH ME YOUR CRAFT
O SHADOW MAN

(Guitar Solo 1)

They... have ridiculed me
They... have brought me down
They... told me I don't have it
They... told me I have no blues within my soul

So, I walk through the crossroads
And I shall sell my soul
To him... the man in shadows
Teach me that music
And let me spread it around
I WILL SELL MY SOUL
AND SELL IT ALL
I'LL TAKE YOUR BARGAIN
JUST TEACH ME!!!

(Guitar Solo 2)

Let them listen:

"I went down to the crossroad
fell down on my knees
I went down to the crossroad
fell down on my knees
Asked the lord above "Have mercy now
save poor Bob if you please"

I was able to feel
AND THE DEVIL WAS REAL!!!

(Guitar Solo 3)

And here I roared into the club
Fear coming from their hearts
I SOLD MY SOUL TO THE DEVIL
ALL FOR THE BLUES

And the bargain was so high
My wife and child have to die
I made all the entire news
As I sold my soul
TO THE DEVIL BLUES

YAHOOOOO!!!!

(Blues Guitar Outro)
