Running Why

Piet Mondrian Avond (Evening) The Red Tree, 1908-10

Hey you! Yes you!

Come over here into the light.

I wish to tell you of my surprise!

*Clearing of the throat*

I was there under the viciously glowing moon that night!

It was I who had left those tracks in the dew soaked grass.

And it was the sound of those damn dog’s barking again

That propelled my leg’s into motion for my rapid running.

If it hadn’t ever happened I would have had never become lost’ s

Littlest little white rabbit of habits worst and prettiest tiniest habit!

As I am sorry for the losing of our shiniest six shooter by the reddest brain matter.

That coagulated into a pool beneath our tree of shame that bled vibrant blue neon red.

With It I anointed thee !

The black apples that hung from those beautiful dead branches were whispering to me.

They said eat and be just that!

A whisper from the trees.

I’m going now into that bright dark river of rapture.

Its warmest to the skin

Yet coldest to the bones

That mend!

Something about the tone of this made me think of Golllum. The confession of a crazed mind perhaps. "Littlest little white rabbit of habits worst and prettiest tiniest habit!" my favorite line. Its just too fun to read aloud.
