Selah - Means Pause to Think

Updated on April 20, 2014

Have you ever paused to think

About the price that Jesus paid?

The munificence in the decision

To release us from sin He made,

How He chose to take sin on, and

Become the answer to the fall,

Remember on the cross

The intercession that He made for all.

He said, “Father, forgive them

For they know not what they do,

This was His prayer to the Father

Concerning me and you,

Why not take a moment now

While time is on your side,

Pause to think and consider

Don’t be stopped by pride.

All of us like sheep

At times have gone astray,

We have turned everyone

To his or her own way.

Salvation is a precious gift

Purchased by His shed blood,

Can’t you feel the power of His love

Overtaking you like a flood?

On the cross the humanity

He incessantly fought,

Eternal life our destiny

With His life He wrought,

Selah, means pause to think!

Weigh, evaluate, and consider

What a privilege!

Salvation really is.
