A Single Heart (Poem)

Updated on September 18, 2013

If you are single, and

You are feeling all alone,

I encourage you to make

Your heart God’s throne,

He is more than your emotions, and

He is more than what you feel,

What you need to see

Is that His love for you is real,

A single heart is not a lonely heart,

But, one consecrated, and set apart,

Reserved alone for God to abide,

Give Him your whole heart, and

In Him confide,

He included meeting all your needs

When He died on Calvary,

He redeemed you by His blood

To set you completely free,

Draw near to Him, and

Let Him embrace you with His love,

Seek first His kingdom, and

His righteousness,

Then set your mind on things above,

He covered every area of your life, and

He didn’t leave one thing out,

Look to Him who is your life, and

Cast out every doubt,

Learning to be content

In whatever state you are in,

Is the result of knowing, that

He is resident within,

He is your bridegroom, and

You are His bride,

You are complete in Him, and

He stands by your side,

He knows your heart,

Yes, He understands,

He made provisions for every

One of your needs in His sovereign plans,

Don’t hide, or divide your heart,

Let His love make it whole,

Don't draw back, come in from the cold,

That's the best way to start, because,

A single heart is not a lonely heart,

But, it is a heart that is completely set apart.

Love the sentiments here and I completely agree! Being single just means you have more time for God in your life than ever and the most time you will ever have to do the things He's called you to do. Wonderful words!

Good evening "Sunny River" how are you doing this evening. Thank you for your concurrence regarding singleness. It is seen at times as a plague, affliction and a curse to some. Nevertheless, it is a absolute blessing, but it does depend on your perspective. It isn't a passage I would have chose for myself, but bless the Lord, it is a path of love. Until the next hubisode, let God's love rule your life and shine on!
