SWEET AGONY

Updated on May 3, 2012

They say love is sweet agony

It draws on your soul’s most intense strings

In a never ending harmony

And with sweet abandon, life, slings

Hours are ages without you, love

Yet, who shall believe I’ve never even seen you

For this joy needs intensity, nothing above

To renew infancy’s tenderness anew

A misshapen being am I

I care not for all around me

A sigh’s sweet, a smile is a cry

My heart rocks like the restless sea

Dearest, bitter sweet melody

Emptiness turns to dreams here

I can feel nothing else, verily

Save fond despair, that me doth toss and tear

You may ever be some distant mirage

My Lord, but safe in my heart be thy lodge

Neither time nor truth can dispel you

Beyond thee, my solace is few

Yes, love is sweet agony

And it shall draw and drain me

Till I reach my grave, dark and empty

My heart shall e’er belong to thee

Ah, the here and now, revel in the frosty reverie, yet the scream is in your lungs about to explode with a steamy fire like a dragon's...
