Sweet Intimacy (Poem)

Updated on September 18, 2013

Lord, sweet intimacy

Is what You are to me,

Fellowship with You

Is my personal reality,

My desire is You, Lord!

It is sweet intimacy,

In Your holy presence

That is where I want to be,

I celebrate Your presence

Deep within my heart,

I embrace You

With all of my love,

I will wear the garments of praise,

Just as my hand would wear a glove

To be engaged in fellowship

So very sweet with You,

Has become the thing

I desire most to do,

Just to know You Jesus

In all actuality,

Sweet intimacy is becoming

A living reality.

Good evening, "Danieltastic" You are important to God and He loves you. You are not just some insignificant someone, you are a part of His body, no member is without importance to Him. This poem is really about a heart to heart relationship, it is what takes place in the heart first and is directed towards God, we call it an intimate relationship because it is between you and God. It is then expressed through a poem, song, and whatever mode of expression is used in which we can inspire other believers to draw close to God for themselves. The presence of the Lord is the most special place to be. You don't have to be any particular place, but your heart is with Him in prayer, and in praise and in giving of thanks. There is a place waiting for you too. Don't let the term intimacy scare you, but rather encourage you to seek God for yourself. He loves you!

Being somebody who found faith late in life, I've always struggled with an intimate relationship... Publicly. I feel there is too much, as people, we need to discuss, as people, before we can begin to bring him into our conversation. So I back off, whenever God is brought into the situation because I've lived without him; I've lived knowing we don't need him there in full magnitude to live free and happily. But I respect those who write so powerfully about our Lord. It's a difficult task for me. But you, do you very well, and with much grace. Good job on this one
