Sadness in A Jar

Updated on September 16, 2016

Read the instructions carefully : Put The Lid On Tight

I have the power

I created such a unique job

I can't wait to let the world know

I am not here at the moment

Assisting another person with stress

I will return your call when I come back

My job has a real fancy and long title

Emergency out of control emotions coordinator

I come to take people's pain away

I put their pain in mason jars

Store it on a shelf

Reminding us how good life is

Never to be seen or heard from again

Each carefully contained

I put labels on each of the jars

A way of dealing with all the uncomfortable situations in life

I keep a very detailed and accurate log

Listing all of the events that lead up to the emotion

I store the mason jars in old pantry off the kitchen

Anyone could come and visit

To see what was then and now long gone

I hope no one ever has a need

From a sad day at work because of a mean coworker

When your body aches from a headache and a cough from a touch of the flu

A broken heart from your first love that moved away

Tears that you wept from a bad grade on a test

Each thought felt and then released into the jar

No need to do it again or go any further

An easy reminder

Out of your life forever

I would guard them day and night

From the first pimple that just got bigger each day

A stubbed toe that was sore for so long

The loss of a loved one we will always miss

From the simple to the complex

There is no unhappy emotion that I could not find

Stomach cramps to extreme pain when having a baby

The littlest to the mundane

A sore throat with that raspy voice

An aggravating hang nail

To the shooting pain of a toothache

The extreme itch from poison ivy

From all ages

A baby when they were constantly crying

Any child who has ever been ill

An elderly gentleman who broke his hip

A woman with a pain in her side

To the time a person cut you off in traffic

Then had to show off their pretty middle finger

The list is long and not easily forgotten

I think we all need to put all the unhappy thoughts in their proper place

Give every one a break

Experiencing it once is enough

This way you can go back to your happy life

I have the only job in the world

To make sure each unhappy thought

Stays here till one day they all disappear

I forgot to tell you any thought that harms anyone

Can't survive more than a year without air

Then it dissengrates instantly

I for one can't wait to see each bad feeling leave for good

One day the jars will lay empty instead of full

That day will be my biggest thrill

I love your idea of putting our trouble's in a jar and forgetting about them. Sadness can ruin a day. I'm on my way to find a jar...
