Some people believe there is a man in the moon. They're wrong, it's not a man, but a woman. Look closely. She's screaming, crying out for help. She's lost, has no where to turn. She looks down to you for help, every night. Why can't I do anything? There's so much terror in her eyes, you can feel it in your soul.
You aren't doing something.
It is your own selfishness that keeps you at bay. It is your own weakness that won't allow you to save her. You don't think you are strong enough to help her, as if there's nothing you can do. Every night you look to the heavens and ask for strength. Strength never comes, and all the while she's dying inside. She cannot fight her own battles. She is so weak. You pretend you don't see the tears. Even, especially, when you create them yourself.
You haven't done anything.
She's fading away now. You watch this scene play out as you watch her every day. She is becoming nothing more than a shell of a human being. Just trying to hide the pain and keep a smile on her face. You are becoming one of the monsters lurking in her shadows. You are one of the monsters lurking in her shadows. What's one more day to you? What's one more tear to you? What is her heart to you? What is her soul to you? What is her entire life to you?
You did nothing.
She faded. You can no longer see the sadness. You can no longer see the shell. There is nothing but the blackness you created. She cried for you, oh, how she cried for you. She screamed for you, but you refused to listened. She died because of you. As you wash the dirt from your hands, you tell everyone you did the best you could, you loved her.
You live with the guilt, you live with the shame. You live with it.
It echoes around you now. You can finally hear the screams, the cries, the horror in her voice. You feel the horror. You feel the pain. You feel all the sadness and hurt that embodied her for so long. You scream for her. You cry for her. You call for her name, begging to make it stop.
She does nothing.
It is her own selfishness that keeps her at bay. It is her own strength that won't allow her to save you. She knows she is strong enough to help you, but there is nothing she will do. Every night she looks down from the heavens and asks why? You never answer, and all the while you're dying inside. You cannot fight her battles. You are so weak. She pretends she doesn't see the tears. Even, especially, when she creates them herself.
