Secret Weight: You are Not alone
I heard the pain laced in your words.
I listened with an ear that really does care.
I heard weeping in your words and felt the Strength that came out from you.
Compelling… Worth telling… So many people, good people like you, have been carrying a secret weight that has kept them from feeling whole in the soul, kept them screaming on the insides, while the guilty sleep soundless.
I admire your new found fire… A fire that compels you to forget the shame and pain and tell the whole story.
You are not alone my friend, there are many who carry the secret weight...
A weight that haunts them, a weight that constantly reminds them that someone they knew, someone they loved, someone who they believed in, had violated a trust and forever marked them.
Tell the story for them my friend… For them whose eyes can’t hide the pain inside… For them who are too afraid and too ashamed to expose someone well respected, who the devil must have selected.
Tell them, so that like you, they can muster up the nerve and strength to face the world with their secret weight.
Face the hostility and denial of the guilty with strength and conviction…
Face family, face friends, so that the nightmares can end and they can enjoy life again.
I hope your testimony, your stories become a vehicle for the countless others who deny and lie and hide, their secret weight.
I hope this poem finds the reader who is tired of being an inside bleeder and confront their demons.
Keep dropping that secret weight my friend… God walks with you, and may the strength of all those silent lips, find a voice in you.
