Seeing Is More Than Believing

Updated on November 2, 2012

Just When You Thought Halloween Was Over

Guess Again

Halloween is going to haunt me even longer

I wish it was you than we could laugh at each other

It started on Halloween afternoon fixing a few last minute preperations

To turn my mothers lovely home into a haunted house

As I raked the leaves in the front of her house

So the littlest scarey monsters wouldn't fall

Not even the ugliest of witches might scrape their knees

Then all the ghosts and pirates could make their way

I was in a hurry with only a few hours before the haunting begins

I was taken back by a smell that was only to familiar

Then a sight that would scare even the worst of villians

A dog must of been here before me and left me his only Halloween trick or treat

I was the first to be surprised

It brought instant tears to my eyes

With the water for the garden hoses shut off for the winter and the ground all wet from huricanne Sandy

I tried to go inside leaving my sneakers on the steps

Looking for a rag to wipe the mess

In disgust I was not home and I had no other pair of sneakers

So with some soapy water and I tried to clean

Do you know there are more groves on the bottom of my sneaker than on the face of the moon

By the way this was no ordinary little job

Tthis was starting to turn into an hour project

Now did I forget to tell you when I noticed the incident that I will not mention

I was already half done and somewhere between here and there

I uncovered something fresh and not to old

I had tracked it on the walk and in my mothers house before I could access the damage

After wiping it up the best I could I looked up at the sky

A full moon looking right back at me

I could see a grin from corner to corner

Tell me Halloween is for kids

I tell you Halloween can be hell

If you step where you weren't suppose to and then you will also have a story to tell

Here it is the day after and something still is not kosher ???

How many times do I have to wash that same sneaker

As many times as it takes to get it right

Off to bed and have a wicked good night

just as if i would ever laugh at you.......

In England there is a programme called The Royle Family.

It is made in Manchester, and is sadly quite like the place i was brought up, i woner if you could find it on you tube.

The family are of course the Royles. and bear absolutely no likeness to the Royals........ There was one particular show that talked about dog ********* The last line was so funny, i am actually going to look for it now, and if it is on you tube see if i can give you da link.

Joy56 So far away but a love to see every day.Life is filled with so much wonder we all can enjoy the beauty in life.It makes the strangest things and toughest situations funny. I was glad the night was clear and not rainy like two days before. It looked like the children all had a good time.kj force I was saying Kosher was good and if it only smelled like that things would be fine.Dogs do what they do.It is up to their owner to watch and pick up after them.I wasn't even mad at the dog.It just was in a tough situation to get out of.I saved the sneaker after one more good cleaning and a little Neutra Air did the trick.Thanx so much for reading and laughing at me or with me.Either way is fine as long as your laughing.

DREAM ON...first off " dog s**t " doesn't smell like kosher..Garlic dills, Bagels, lox..and grammies brisket and Kugel smell kosher..I'm sorry my dog picked your mother's yard, but the fact is he has been barred, from the one next door..and sorry you got it on your mother's floor..as for your sneakers scrub with a brush..put in a bag , throw in the garbage ,and buy a new pair at paylesss..as they will now be useless..love ya and your ( crappy ) poem..hehehe
