Short Story: Selfishness!

Updated on January 9, 2012

Because it could easily be the way I interpret being selfish and because the dictionary has it totally different, and because those to whom I a referring to, don’t see it at all that way, and those to whom I am speaking, never even thought about looking at it that way. So here is what I will do, as my own unselfish way of giving the benefit of the doubt the best possible shot at being authentic.

In my attempt to get as close as possible to whatever ultimate truth is, though it seems impossible as a human being. I won’t let that deter me, because I believe that it is better to die trying, than making no effort at all. So in my way of insuring that what I am saying is true, and it’s is equally as important for me, as it is for you. I will start at that place where most humans have already visibly elected to be the UN bias representative of the human race.

This universally agreed and contracted worldwide to be that truthful and correct voice of all people.

Those that are called dictionaries.

Here is what it says of selfishness: excessive interest in oneself. This we can easily go on to say that this makes it very difficult for a selfish person to give. This the dictionary translates as being: to make a present.

Then I feel as if that makes it even more difficult, for that selfish person, to share with others. As that same dictionary says: something belonging to, due to, or contributed by an individual member of a group.

I believe that one can only share what is theirs, but they can give that which is not.

To be cont………….

Part two will be here tomorrow.

Thanks Debroah I feel your honesty. I fid that even if it's something that you have managed to squeeze through from childhood, cause you know children, they become that way even towards their parents.

But when we have developed honesty as a way of dealing , not too many things stand a chance.

      Stay well and healthy

      God Bless.

      Thank you "AE"

And you are so correct , there are so many ways one con look at this , and if you look to hard , you will actually start asking yourself if this is the correct world you are in?

There is a Jamaican singer called Jimmy Cliff , he sang this song suffering in the land , your comment just reminded me of him.

As always thanks "AE" and Give Thanks.

Selfishness is rampid all over the world..You can see this..People are hungry..Leaders grow wealthier each day. I think when you're poor as a child, you become selfish, never attaining what you need or wish for. You have to grow in spirit to become less selfish, then you never completely become selfish free..It's an ongoing process..GREAT hub Sky....

Thank you brethren Frank from the block. But I know where you were going with it because I remember all your words , that what those like me do when we say thanks , and beautiful we stay in truth and meaning fullness, hoping that the true meaning of things are understood , that's what these great mothers and fathers do , they don't smile with you after you tell lies , they use their own parental God given methods that works to make sure you don'r ever forget it's no good.

You repeated that beautiful story about the man and his two daughters to me a couple of months ago young fellow, and it was lovely so you were reminded of it when reading and your mind related.

Selfishness can come from how you were raised too.. It reminds me of a story of a dad who brought home a piece of candy to the youngest daughter and the old one threw a fit.. and demanded a piece for own self and the next day he brought one for the oldest daughter and the younger daughter said.. dad that was very thoughtful of you.. I don't know where Im going with this but your hub made me think of it..Frank da block shhhhh
