Sharing Time

Updated on December 1, 2013

Feeling So Good We Did

Life continues to throw unexpected curve balls

That we watch till the last second and then

Swing and a miss

How do we manage to hang in there ?

Learn to wait for our pitch

Then when the time is right

Hit that ball with all our might

Not a homerun but with a good firm swing

That sent the ball to left center field

In for a single

Now we are talking

Sports for some people

Life for others

As my days blend one into the other

I found one thing that continues to stand out

That is making time for friends

Seeing each other not as often as we wished

Telling stories and talking about old times

Enjoying the laughter that comes when friends spend time together

Gypsy Rose Lee We can have so much fun. Some days we play better than others but every day we get up at bat and give it our best shot. Thanks for commenting. Have a good night,

Life really is like a game as we toss the ball to one another...

Sharing Time is such a wonderful hub well thought of and poetry sounds great. A time for sharing and spending time with true people that is how I spend my days laughing and having good times together.

What a wonderful poem about the importance of friends and loved ones. It sounds like your visit with your friend was very healing and wonderful. Everyone we meet along the way, was meant to be. It's up to us to figure out what part of the puzzle they fill. Hope you had a beautiful thanksgiving.

leni sands My wife and I just visited a very special friend who we haven't seen in years. Spending time together didn't change our work or our responsibilities. It did change me as a person. Seeing someone who has helped me in the past when know one else could. I will never forget her wonderful caring and concern. I am ashamed of not seeing her more. Something always came up. We spent three hours together that seemed like just a few minutes. I still can't explain the feelings that have completely filled my thoughts. Life will always keep me on edge but I understand it is up to me to see how I can use it to my advantage. Thank you for reading my writing that is so close to my heart.

Really interesting poetic stance on life - I agree life is like a game at the moment I feel like the 'ball' as life is taking a battering. I really liked this poem - voted up!
