She Broke the Car

Updated on July 14, 2011

We drove...trees following behind...night had already came...shadows
crawling and drowning the lights,
Oops...it's happening...the sting...the bump of an engine with
ailments...taillight flickering...smelling oil,
The car is slowing...why is it slowing...gasoline problems...oil
problems...maybe the tire has blown,
We have to step out...stop the car...it's already stopped...got
out...oil smells...engine sounds horrible.

Stepped around the back...taillights out...the road is
cold...nighttime falling...crickets sounding,
She tried to restart it...doesn't work...gotta push the midnight car
madness...good thing the house is 2 miles away,
Push push...car is in park...put it in Neutral...now we're
rolling...get this how on the road...push roll,
Camry is moving...moving and rolling as i push and push...she's in the
car guiding...directing the Axels destination.

The neighborhood is slowly making it's approach...finally reach the
first road...this is easy,
Pushing this monster on wheels...it's goblin attitude shutting us down
just before home,
Why does life happen like this...it works then it doesn't...from birth
to death for all things on this planet,
Wait...I'm pushing more...a stream of liquid pouring from the belly of
the beast...gushing thick atrocities.

We're almost home...hit the destination road...the path to the
house...oils leaking slightly slower now,
I'm sure the beast is almost empty...she is helping to push now...the
hill nears...just one more obstacle to the home front,
Straining and straining we push and push...feels like the crucible on
a hot day...a test of strength and mental stability,
We made it home...went and got the mechanic from the back bedroom...he
walks outside...checks it...she broke the car.

Oh my goodness! I can sooo relate to this! You're lucky it was a small-ish Camry and not a big old "Scout!" I've pushed that heavy old beast once or twice while my 5 year old son steered...many years ago. (:

I love this. Great imagery. I was right there with ya, darlin'.

Voted UP, U, F (ironically, yes, I thought it was funny), A and I

I like your style, Mark. You have a new fan and follower. (:

May peace be in your heart and soul...always,

      Diana
