She dreams sea dreams........A poem?

Updated on December 3, 2013

I watch as she slowly walks across the
sandy path
stops and lifts her
blue wide brimmed sun hat
reaching down to brush
away something from her
calf and continues
towards me

Expertly averting my gaze
to avoid detection
as she continues past
me I observe her casually
I am a people watcher
especially of women
her blanket not far
ahead of me
all of her

Even her tied back hair is
kissed by the sun
softly bleached
she must come here a lot

Maybe I should ask her
"Hello do you come here a lot ?"
No I won't

After the sun tan oil
has beaded the perspiration
on her thighs
on her freckled shoulders
and her wrists
After my fantasies have
played out in
my head
she begins to snore

And I wonder does she dream
of seas
of the rolling tides
the thunderous
crashing of the
Does she maybe dream of
this man behind her?

She does have a
perfect tan though
and thighs
and toes
I'm glad she picked

I agree with Phyllis; you put me on that beach and through your images I enjoyed a day in the sun. I thank you for that.

ahorseback, I almost felt as if I was there on the beach watching you and her. You have a marvelous way with words that paint a lovely image. I really like this poem.
