Be " true " to Yourself and Weed out your Garden of Life..

Got a Gripe ? Get a Grip...Drop the " e"...

He thought that he was smarter than she...

And boy , did he underestimate....

Although she never gave time to hesitate...

Cause she, unlike he, had been there before.....

And knew all the angles to even the score...

As long as he was paying the way...

She made up her mind that she would stay...

The came the day when push came to shove...

And she realized that he no longer felt love...

He had broken her trust...

Because he had lust....

For many another , but she had lost her heart to this relationship...

She knew she had to get a grip....

Her friends and family were all gone...

Just like the words in a country song...

That's when she decided you see....

To do whatever it had to be....

She was up in years and her youth was gone...

She decided to put her words in song...

Months passed , it was finished at last...

Celebrating , she chose to go to a little bar by the sea ...

There was a singer there named Beverly...

Her voice was deep and sounded like " Joplin "

She approached the singer and gave her an option...

The crowd loved her words, there was a standing ovation...

And within days the song was played on every radio station....

Now she's in control of her own fate...

With no stress or strife in her life to debate...

So the moral of the story you see....

Is every negative has a positive for thee....

I join everyone else in praise of this poem! It's going on my refrigerator door to remind me to remove that "e" from "gripe" and get it together--weed my own garden. Who needs another whiner in the world, anyway? Wonderful didactic poem. Loved the moonshine behind the outhouse line and so many others. Voted up, awesome (there wasn't a "brilliant" choice), and sharing.

      "KJ" (kj force)

Good rhyming story to spin to this redneck. Got me to singing that old nursery rhyme, too - "Sing a song of sixpence - "bucket" full of rye..." Well your tale wound up profitably in a saloon - and what might be more profitable than a bucket of rye for only six pence? Got me smiling over here even though I must still stay dry. Can always smile at good rhyming stories even though parched.

By the way, my bride says she would not mind some help with her gardening. She admired the photo.

      Gus :-)))
