She Hears His Coming (poem)

Updated on November 8, 2015

She hears his coming there among the trees

Her heart prepares to greet another day

Where kisses are the whispers of the breeze

And rainbows are the tears of yesterday

-

She hears his voice again call out her name

A song which sets her spinning in a whirl

While torrents make her passions hard to tame

And there another truth begins to twirl

-

She hears the sound like lightning hit the ground

Confusing voices rush to fill the air

A world of shadows flowing all around

She could not see the body lying there

-

Again she hears him coming from the trees

He is the hope her dreams try to appease

Martin, this is very thought-provoking and worthy of several reads from each who happens upon this treasure.

I had to think twice about "...And rainbows are the tears of yesterday". To me, rainbows are magical. So is the beauty that comes from those tears. I get it now.

This is good writing, Martin. Loved the poem and music.

The music is a wonderful back drop to your poem. The poem is so thought provoking and beautiful.
