This story of overcoming the obstacles life throws at you, is truly inspiring to young men and women whose dealt with obesity, who is a victim of rape, the lose of both parents, abuse and the complex thing called life.
Following the heart breaking yet heart-warming story of Dolores Price, from experiencing the wonders of getting a colored TV, to finally finding happiness she never thought existed.
Learning how to cope with the pain of the past like; losing her parents, being raped by the handsome Jack Speight and being tortured and taunted about her weight.
To learning to life for small things, whether it's flatting weightless on the water or watching a whale break the surface of the water.
Its the momets when life gives us a small or great portion of happiness that we live for.
Even though this book was made 7 years, to the day, before I was born and I finally read it two years ago, this books message to the reader is still strong and fresh with it's topics.
Never before, have I ever read a book that I could relate to on a personal level. This book doesn't just speak to adults but, it also reaches out to teens both male and female. This isn't a book someone should just look over, everyone, no matter who you are or what you're going through should read this book, at least once in their life time.
Mr. Lamb did such a phenomenal job telling a story, based on a females perspective. A talent such as Mr. Lambs is something many male and female authors try to achieve through their writings.
A story, such as this one, has never before taken me to a whole to world where, everything isn't unicorns and rainbows and the reality of the what the world is really like sets in.
