Short Story Ideas VI

Updated on September 9, 2011

Legal Aide

You've just spent 4 years in college studying subjects that offer you virtually no job options in the real world. You've tried using every college credit you gained, to land you a decent job, but the best your 4 year philosophy and interpersonal communications degree has gotten you, are a job washing dishes at the local greasy spoon.

This just won't work. Especially once you run into your future-spouse-to-be. Now you're driven to do anything you can to land yourself a high powered and well paying career. Somehow, while your contemplating just what sort of employment to squeeze yourself into, you bump right into a very attractive lawyer when you were on your way out of the mall. You end up talking just when the opportunity becomes obvious to you, and somehow find yourself as a brand new Legal Aide to this busy and obviously disorganized lawyer.

Now that you've talked your way into this job, you've just got to figure how exactly to do your job without being caught as an obvious fraud by either your new boss or your new love....

Life in a Coma

Can you imagine what it might be like to be trapped in a coma for a few months? What if inside that coma you were somehow transported to another world entirely? Or what if your spirit took that time to travel through the subconscious mind and you were in some sort of surreal dream world? Get your creative writing juices flowing and create the strange world of life in a coma.

Switched at Birth

10 years after a precious baby was born, your character finds out that the baby was accidentally switched at birth in the hospital with someone elses baby. Suddenly you find yourself wracked with guilt and confusion.

Do you search for your true son or daughter, potentially bringing up tons of issues with both families? Or do you leave things as they are, knowing that you've already bonded with your switched child and love them to much to cause anymore trouble?
