Should (A poem by Whonunuwho)
Should we regard a new born baby's cry,
such a wonder to behold,
All the stories and values so given to us,
as children we are told?
Should we seek to grow and thrive in life,
a reflection of our kind,
To increase knowledge and humanity,
deeply rooted in our mind?
Should we strive to give back what we've gained,
to those left behind,
Under moon and stars and a warming sun,
as equals, have we shined?
Could morning's mist and fine blue sky,
give us all a brand new chance,
To conquer ills and create the thrills,
in this life's ever mysterious dance?
Should we be resigned to lay us down,
and to never make any more gains,
To be content to leave all behind,
amid the troubling thunder, and the rains?
We must get up and take back control,
for there's great things we all can do,
Excelling beyond the limitless void,
and in reaching the great heights, anew.
Should we but find that illusive answer there,
its obscurity, will be unmasked,
With sheer determination and with a grit,
in happiness our souls will be basked.
In every life there is adversity, with its challenges,
many great, and few small,
Yes, we will rise and face each day,
for there's strength to be found in us all.
