Shoveling My Way In Heaven

Updated on February 5, 2014

What A Surprise

Here it is I finally get to go to heaven

I walk in through a big gate

I think there is some kind of motion sensor on it

Because it opened all by itself

I looked around nobody is here

I find it strange I am all alone

I thought it would be so different

Nonetheless I keep walking

No music playing

No harps

A little foggy though

Then it began to rain

I was getting wet

Now this is not at all how I imagined it

Then I looked in a distance and there was another gate

Larger than this one

Curious as I am

I walked closer this time I heard a bugle sound

Once again nobody around

This is a strange place I thought

Now the rain had stopped

I wasn't wet anymore

I could feel the temperature drop

Now it got a little bit colder the closer I got

This gate was covered with snow

I heard another bugle sound

This gate made a noise but didn't open

I stood there and pulled on the gate

Thinking I walked all this way for nothing

There had two be two feet of snow on the ground

I heard a voice

Where was it coming from I thought

Don't just stand there

The shovels are against the fence

We got no warning and a storm took us by surprise

Our gate freezes up in the snow

So if you don't mind

Be so kind

Grab a shovel and start shoveling

Our snow blower was sent out for repairs

What ?

I thought you have to be kidding me

I came all this way

To shovel snow

Then a calm silence and a laugh

I know you thought it would be different

Those darn movie producers make heaven so different than it really is

I am going to have to talk to them

Well are you going to shovel or not ?

As I hesitated and looked for where the voice was coming from

It was if the voice had read my mind

You can't see me until you are here awhile

Well the snow isn't going to move itself

I laughed and said I think I made it to the wrong heaven

Next thing I know

I was waking up in my bed

I looked out the window and there was snow

Well I guess I wasn't ready for heaven after all

So here I stay for another day

I will be in no hurry

Especially if I have to shovel at heavens gate

DDE I felt calm , relaxed and then confused all at the same time. The good mixed with the strange or the odd.Michael-Milec A nice place to visit but I really didn't want to stay. I will keep looking but for now I am very pleased to be where I am with both feet on the ground. Thank you both for sharing and having such wonderful comments.

      Hi Michael.

This one has earned my vote " funny ". My guess will be you're right that you made it to the wrong heaven. ( Some dreams are tiresome, aren't they?) If you'll find out of " right" heaven would you please let us know about? Thanks .

Shoveling My Way In Heaven interesting and very much of a dream you were in another phase of life and back to reality your time is not there as yet.
