Side Mirror

Updated on February 18, 2016

I fastened my seat belt
I looked towards the windshield
Turned on the car
Ready for a journey that's far

Eyes focused on what's ahead
The road was wide I was tempted
I wanna hit the gas further
Feels like I'm a winner

Suddenly, I changed direction
I looked back and saw what's behind
I turned the steering wheel
And went back looking forward

Realization came in
No matter how long the journey is
A glimpse of what's behind is a need
Otherwise, you'll get hit

Looking what's behind isn't bad
As long as, your focus is in front
Someone's been part of my past
A side mirror I couldn't refuse to look at
