Silence In The Night (poem)

Updated on July 10, 2013

Silence in the night

Whose bitterness

Encompasses the glory of the stars

What do you search for

What do you yearn for

What need will feed your appetite

Surely not here

With a soul and his memories

Waiting to join them again

Surely not here

In the hallways of happiness

Ever so vast

Surely not here

On the golden sunset

Of dreams yet to be

Sitting there lonely

In now empty room

All that remains

There is no reason to smile

There is no hope for laughter

And yet he does

Maybe that is what you’re after

Maybe this is what you seek

Maybe never had to happen

Emptiness forgotten

Silence now is your form

The answer to life without cause

Emptiness forgotten

Can’t you leave this one alone

Whose life you never knew

Emptiness forgotten

Seeks too late a heart

As the light goes out

Music only

Nice! It makes me remember "Sound of Silence" which I consider to be my song of solitude and isolation.

An amazing way to describe facing reality.

Cold reality is sometimes truer than a world of rosy dreams. Your different styles are all so believable and easy to imagine.

I do love the new style here for this truly sad poem, as there are so many who put on those smiles when they have lost all hope and their dreams are dashed. Be maybe they put on the smiles, as truly way deep down, they have not lost all hope!

Very dramatic and beautiful music here, which is perfect with your expressive words here.

Sorry, I am so late in commenting, I missed last night and now catching up to read.

      Voted up +++ and sharing

God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

What a great poem Martin. I read it as I listened to the great music video. The photo is a perfect fit for this sad poem.
