You wise, old spirit

How I need you now

Such guidance I, at last, require

Towards a specific path

In this old, dark forest

I tremble with fear

For the unknown haunts me

Like a demon in my heart

Tormenting my very old soul

To be exorcised only by insight

The birds no longer sing

They have fled this forest

At the sight of me

Only so that I may hear

The wisdom you must impart

Last night I dreamt

The world had found me again

But without welcome

And without favor

And so I awoke

To measure this forest

As I had done a day ago

To again find my mentor

To channel my spirit guide

A spark at last

To flicker in my eye

To direct me towards

What I won't alone confront

But only a spark

An infancy of light

That I will not make grow

For without your guidance

My fear leaves me fixed
