Simplicity at Its Best: a Poem

Val is a life-long student of the psycho-philosophy of living and a devoted practitioner of many techniques that enhance personal evolution.

Simplicity of living rarely forgives

when we complicate matters beyond repair

it's perversion of intellect that deceives

causing us trouble and despair.

We think way too much about ordinary stuff

and beat around a bush instead of just doing

then problems compile and many get tough

while on some too big bites we are still chewing.

Eliminating everything that we can't control

leaves us with a pure joy of living

makes life well organized and whole

with a relief simply beyond believing.

For "you can't prevent the birds from flying"

but don't let them use your head for a nest"

this is an adage always worth applying

if we want to live up to our best.

One thing at a time and done with care

simplifies everything into a single file

and even when life seems to be unfair

we can do it all with a simple smile.
