Singing to His Heart

Updated on November 25, 2013

It was some kind of karma

Or perhaps it was fate

The day that he first heard

Her singing her love songs

The voice was tender and sweet

And she sang with heart and soul

He wondered what she looked like

The fascination led him

To go to her concert

There upon the stage

Was a walking dream

Who sang like an angel

With eyes so full of sadness

And it put him into a sort of trance

A fascination as if she was singing only for him

And so his journey began

He followed her to her concerts

Traveling to and fro

Always sitting in the front row

Mesmerized by her movements

Hypnotized by her songs

She loved to sing

Always had ever since she was five

But it was a lonely life

She shied away from the limelight

And had only a few friends

Suddenly as she sang

Of all that she felt

About life and about love

She started noticing him

Always there

Always staring at her

His eyes never leaving her

And she began to wonder

Who he was and why he was there

Finally came the night

When she couldn’t resist

And he was astonished to see

Her reach out her hand and point to him

When the concert was done

And as he would always do

He sat there at everyone was leaving

Her voice still ringing in his airs

He looked up to see a bodyguard

Standing in front of him

He simply said she wants to see you

And he followed him

In a state of great excitement

In the limousine racing away in the night

His breath caught as he gazed

Upon her beauty

And she smiled most brilliantly

Word for word

They agreed to share their stories

Hidden away from the world

He expected a mansion

Or some fairy tale castle

But her home was by the sea

A simple cottage

Surrounded by rose bushes

Red roses as lovely as her lips

And astounded into silence

He followed her inside

They spent the night talking

Sipping wine and learning about each other

He was surprised to hear

How lonely her life was

But then he had somehow already known

That the songs she sang told of her sadness

Of the things that meant the most to her

Storied set to music

And so it began

Their love blossoming moment by moment

Time after time

When she’d return from touring

And he would be there waiting

Their happiest days

Spent in the sun and the sea

Chasing seagulls

And swimming among the waves

She had a talent for sandcastles

And it was always so very sad

When it was time for her to go away again

Until the day they knew

That they could never be apart

And it was his most proudest moment

The day that his love now his wife

And their precious daughter

Who was all but five

Sang a duet to daddy

Expressing all of their love

      Morning Gypsy Rose Lee.

It does my heart good to see a poem/story from you today after that terrible accident in Riga the other day. Hope you or any of your family weren't in the store when the dissaster happened.

To me this hub is more of a story with a happy ending. I say story, because what do I know about poetry.

Take care and have a great day and keep warm.

      LOL Ghaelach

I thought for sure this guy was gonna end up a stalker and she'd end up dead or calling the cops..

OOPS - too much like real life - MY life perhaps??
