Sitting On The Shores Of Life.

Welcome to one and all !!

As many of you know a couple if weeks ago a very dear friend who had actually been my English teacher at school advised me that as well as writing these positive and happy poems I should also write some every now and then on the pain and sadness of life.

This I did a couple of weeks ago and I was amazed at the wonderful comments. One of the best was from a dear friend I have made through HubPages who actually told me that because I had only spoken of positives she now found that she could not connect with me fully. She had felt lacking as she felt pain and I didn't seem to feeling any.

Also I think that unknowingly I had set myself on a pedestal where I was the happy one permanently; what ever sadness and bleakness I felt I worked out at home without sharing with you all on here.

So you can now understand just how much DJs http://djanderson.hubpages.com/ comment meant to me.

I hope you enjoy today's hub.

A ferocious

wave crashes

onto

the shores of life ;

my heart recoils

in clear determination

horizons charred

from unrelenting

punishment.

The lashings

cause wheals silent

and deadly !!!

My heart a pendulum

ebbing and flowing

happy and sad

Misty horizons

how I long for sunshine

for one moment in time.

The spraying stinging salt water

spiteful

hurtful

on each open wound .

My heart a slave

and never a shelter;

gripped in life's

wrath!!

Estuaries of life !!Which one is ours to decide.

Source

Let us retrace

back to the days

of choices .

When the sea was younger !!!

With many estuaries

promising new beginnings !!!

Do I believe ?

Do I trust ?

Do I fight against

life's

intravenous poison ?

Or do I hide away?

That early river once again beckons.

Which estuary for me ??

"Wearily she'll flow along

Into estuaries she'll divide

These are the rivers of life

Which one is ours to decide."

A choice so clear

but is my mind strong?

Will I eternally cower

from

raw emotions?

A continuous journey

of ebbing and flowing

each tide so cruel so grim ?

A path once so blurred

on life's horizon

lifting that grey mist

once merciless in its threats !!

Lifting a heart

cowering in life's

bleak caves ??

Thrown about

will I find shelter from life's wrath

from threats

from salt laced terrors.

A decision I alone can make.

Then daylight breaks

and slithers of sunshine

awakens a heart once numb.

Blue skies gently caress

each soft white cotton wool cloud.

Eyes open in sheer delight

as the sea rests

a blue calm oasis of wonder !!!

Rock pools

wondrously glisten

enticing

each magical wonder to enchant.

Each heart so afraid

absorbs this awakening

heartbeats a clear

sonnet of

True love.

Seagulls cry

fill hearts with wonder

the gentleness

floats on the ebb and flow.

Young children explore

those twinkling rock pools of life.

Days so precious

Moments to treasure

Skipping and jumping

their world so bright

from cold to warm

dull to bright

sad to happy !!!

Cherish.

Cherish

Your world's beauty

Each contrast a lesson

Happiness a sweet treasure trove

To accept, expect and appreciate

A world so desperate for love

Fight for your path through life

A path so true

Cherish
