Slave No More

I am an artist, designer, photographer and writer. See more of my work on cmariearts.

Sometimes you can be stuck as a slave to yourself or someone else. When you finally know how to let go of everything and everyone that holds you back, you are set free.

Slave No More

Rage struck me

From within

My heart sank

Then chimed in

A pitted rot

Has set in

Darkness that was brought

Upon me falls

Chains that held me back

Tattered walls

A passion deep inside

Awakened again

I found myself

I'm not forsaken

I am not trapped here

Puppet strings that binded me

Sank to the floor

Set free

I can escape now

You are not my master

Slave no more to you

You can't hear me weep

I owe not debt to you

Maybe I will see you again

One day

When time beats faster

Until then my friend

Forever after

Poems that come from feelings deep within are very difficult hide, they come from a truthful place. Even if it hurts sometimes to write, it sets the writer free.

It does something to whoever's reading attempting to experience that place through the poets words.

      Their skin it reacts.

This is a deep poem , I enjoyed reading. It's beautiful Very nice Caroline. I shall read more.

      Perfect picture.

been there, done that. I am a proser, I studied poetry intensely in college. I don't write poetry, but I know good poetry when I read it. I am formally trained in interpretation. This is a great poem. Not a word was wasted. Thanks for showing it.
