Sleep Come Back I don't Want To see You Go

Updated on September 29, 2016

I Can't Wait To Close My Eyes

You are like a family member who I look forward seeing

You have a busy schedule and when your not around

We all forget about you

When you show up

You are the life of the party

Story after story can be told

Of all the people you have visited

Each time never the same

You hold all my attention and keep me laughing in stitches

Without you life is impossible

If you come late I become cranky and real irritable

Sometimes you stay over night or for a few days

I am thrilled

Then once again when you have to leave

I feel down

I know we all have things to do

If you stay for a longer visit

Nothing will ever get done

So it works out nice whenever you drop bye

I can remember you coming when I was a kid

I had to go to bed early

I thought I would miss all the fun

I cried when I had to go to bed

I fought sleep

I got in big trouble

I think you had adult talk time

It was no place for a five year old

How could I have known

As I got older

I could stay up later and later

Even in my college years

You would be here and gone

There are so many years that you have been around

Never missing a day

How many people are that lucky

I for one

Look forward to our next dream

Where my imagination goes non stop

Have a goodnight

You will probably come as soon as I close my eyes

Tomorrow I will be listening

To the greatest story ever told

Nellieanna When my head hits the pillow I can count to ten and I'm off to dream land. I live each day the best way I can treating people right and loving life. Everything else is like extra jimmies on ice cream I love it even more if that is even possible. I love to read your words and walk around with you in my head. Then come back later with a comment. I picture you stretching in the morning and starting your day. I do something most people don't. When I wake up in the morning or any part of my day I have a ritual.I close my eyes and think of people in my life. I send them a loving hug in my mind and I know we are all connected and distance doesn't matter. So morning hugs to you. Thanks for keeping life interesting and reinforcing a lot of old family values I grew up with and was taught. These are thoughts not easily shared in today's modern age. (Shells)

Gypsy Rose Lee Sometimes I get wonderful ideas while sleeping other times if I am working on an idea I know if I go to sleep my thoughts will be locked away in a secret vault that I lost the key to years ago. So I am happy both ways. Sometimes more one way than another. Never without any. Thank you for reading and telling me how sleep affects your life.

Shanmarie Sleep is always a challenge. I love to go to sleep and when I sleep I hardly ever move. Content and fully happy. I struggle to get up always wishing for more. Then when I get up early I am so glad I did. I get so much done. If I sleep late the extra sleep feels great then when I am awake I have to race around and play catch up. From one night owl to another thank you for sharing and caring.

I have a love affair with sleep, though I've always tried to compact it into shorter time, even as a kid! haha. I would sneak a book and a light under the covers in my youth bed with the high bars on the sides! I just wished there was an alternate reality for being fully awake and aware! haha. I still feel that way.

In later years I'd try to make 2 days out of one for my special projects, which I always had going, - often staying up all night, all the next day and late into the next night.

I am SO blessed that I can always go to sleep quickly when I do lie down and always sleep very well, being able to turn off the concerns of the day. Quality of sleep counts as much as quantity, I think. And the subconscious quietly works on concerns while one is peacefully sleeping.

But now, in my dotage (I'll be 85 in less than 4 months!) and vigorously planning to live at least to 100 and healthily, I'm realizing that a more regular 'full night's sleep' will be valuable in realizing that aim!

Either way, I never fight against waking up and getting started! I do a few limbering exercises in the bed before swinging my legs over the side and getting going. I'm not as fast as I've been in past years, but I'm every bit as fully sleeping when I'm down and fully operating when I'm up. It's a secret to good health and longevity.

So I'll pray for all who have sleep problems! Hugs and every good thing!

My sleep is slave to my inspiration. If the inspiration lasts sleep can wait. Then if I do sleep as soon as my brain starts thinking good-bye sleep hello PC.

Ahhh, sleep. Certainly a good friend of mine. LOL. But I am a night owl. I feel more creative and alert a night when the world is quiet and everyone else in the house is asleep. Growing up, it was my only time to be alone. So now I try to stay on a better sleep schedule or like you, I become grumpy. But I don't have much of one right now. At least I am still getting enough sleep for the most part.

Can't remember most of my dreams, though. So no great stories for me are likely. Besides, the last dream I had was a nightmare.

MsDora isn't life funny that way. When we have something we don't want it and we don't have it we beg for more. Thank you so much for reading and sharing.

Great conversation. As a child, I tried to drive sleep away; as an adult, I wish we could spend more time together.
