Slingobay

Updated on March 12, 2011

you say it went out

but i can feel it

in your words

the fire.

you held it once

until it blew out

but what you didnt notice

is that the embers

were still smoldering.

stoke the fire

let it burn

and before you know it

your flames will over take you

and you might have

to step away from yourself.

you can get overheated

by your own flames you know

and thats when you know

that your back.

as one writer to another slingo...

light that fucking fire.

your worth the heat, baby.

are you offended by my choice of word? un sorry, but i cannot apologise for that. I wrote what i felt. I am glad you enjoyed the rest of it though. This hub was special for a very dear hub friend.

      Fuckin' Ay Right Pink Um-

Very dear Hub friend present and accounted for M'am. You never cease to amaze me. I wake sleepless and stumble to the comfort and passion of your poetic images. Your poetry touches me-no it reaches inside of me- and grabs my heart and massages- no squeezes- no chokes the beat and rhythm of my heart and.. and ..and make me say:

      "I awoke to your words

      as if in a dream

      to make everything seem

      so much like

      these words were my own

      about myself

      stone cold numbness

      of spirit

      once aflame from the core

      as if the sun

      radiating

      yet drawing strength

      fire

      life from a source

      beyond my sphere."

You simply inspire me! And now this Hub like a Tsunami launched by your earth tremors toward the sheltered shores of my comfortable coastline. I am overwhelmed by the sheer generosity of your encouragement and caring. What a stupendous video which compelled me to read and hear every last lyric over and over. Thank you so soo sooo much. Peace and hugs.

slingobay- there is nothing generous about careing for a friend. When it comes a time where you feel like you have lost yourself and grown away from your true feelings, well lets just say i know what that feels like. I hope that you have found yourself again in in fact you lost yourself to begin with, and if not, keep looking! your there somewhere! lots of love from under the umbrella - pink

There's a lot of spice in this poem and the words assault the reader very nicely. Well done. As for Sligobay, he's a great hubber to toast to; always generous and forthcoming with his literary acumen. I enjoyed this. Glad to meet you. Doug.

thank you doug, only a fellow writer could pick up on the fact that that is precisely what i aim to do, assault the reader in one way or another. I am also pleased to make your aquaintance, and hope you will be back.

Cool poem, I loved this. Never worry about putting passion in to words and hopefully people will understand and read between the lines. :)
