Smoke , darkness and alone..........verse

Updated on November 9, 2015

Spending too much time alone and you begin
to notice things as never before
like the wisp of smoke in the dark
rising against a star
lit sky

And then these stars begin to drift and flow
as liquid the smoke and the background
the same color
we realize that
life and everything within life
is but movement

Unsettling at first and not realized
and then you finally begin to understand
we can never be still
while a world spins and we
turn and turn
we hold ourselves
unsteadily against the earth

And our attention unwillingly turns to reality
the load snapping the popping of the fire
sounds against
the surrounding forest
the low light dances against
still leaves

And like these sounds and senses
we realize that no matter
the comfort
we cannot be alone for any time
without the demands that we ourselves
have created

And all of this life itself screams at us
"Come back come back where
have you been
what have you been doing ? "
And it becomes time to join the fray
once again
in this movement
this universe

Were you talking about me? I hardly ever stop. When finally still I really do notice so much.

No matter how hard it gets we must realize we are part of the universe and putting one foot in front of the other is the way to go. being alone sucks but we never know what tomorrow will bring. I liked this!

So happy that the time alone is just for a period. Thanks for the valuable message well presented.

I have to read this two times...once in my head and then aloud.

We shouldn't bear many a burden my friend and I wish you grace when you feel like drifting and for all the times that you feel alone.

      Love from the sky~

I love the message here, my friend. There are doers and there are watchers. Which one am I? What's really cool is I get to decide and it can start today.

Delightful. Maybe that is a funny word to describe this solemn piece but to me it is delightful. It somehow captures our need for balance on this moving planet. I surely do like my alone time with nature but it also makes me appreciate the fray just a tad more.
