Snow After Snow
The snow cascaded down upon the snow,
A second dull white sky releasing white,
And now they've forecast more cascading snow
That will create a landscape very bright
That lasts until the slush; this fluffy snow
Is table for blue shadows on the white,
The morning-after bright, sunshiny snow.
And now they've forecast still more shiny bright
Cascades of lightly dancing, falling snow
That builds its blanket under sky, dull white,
A carpet in the woods, until the snow
Begins to shrink before the new March bright
And warming day and night, until no snow
Is left, and green and brown replace the white.
