So You Will Know

I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I live in the suburbs of Riga, Latvia with my hubby, Martin & cat, Sid.

There are so many words,

that express love -

in so many different ways.

Words get worn

and I get tired of saying them.

At times words,

can even wound the heart.

Over and over again,

so you will know -

that I love you so.

I’ll just say it with my eyes

and I’ll express it with my smile.

You will know it when we kiss

and when you hold me tight.

When we are dancing

and romancing in the moonlight.

Words are for love that’s ordinary,

but not for a love like ours -

that’s extraordinary.

Together we can create magic,

enter into a world of our own.

We need no words,

no words can ever express,

a lifetime of love,

as much as holding hands can do

and quiet hours side by side.

When the moments come,

we can share so much,

for dreams hold us together.

You will be able to tell,

by the way I look at you

and all the little things I do

and that is the best way -

to express my love for you.

You and I, Rasma, write about love often. Different forms to deliver the message, but the message is always the same.

No wonder I like you so much. :)

Wonderful ways to express love. I want them all (and still want to hear it). Seriously, your poem creates a mood in which speech in not necessary. Good job!

Sometimes we don't need the words, as our actions speak of love so much more. Your words, however, light up the page, enlightening the heart. Thank you. :-)

Sometimes just a look or touch can say it all. Nice expression of nonverbal communication of love.
