Thankful praise

I would like to thank everyone who had visited and commented on my first set of angel poem collection I posted last month. It meant so much to me on how you loved it. Due to popular demands and request to post more poetry, I will share more of my angel poems once a month, and will highlight some of my other poetry, like my nature poetry on sunsets and sunrises next month, too. If I find any of my previously published poetry from a decade ago, I’ll mention it in the same hub capsule on when and where, if the magazine/ezine still exists in the archives. Here’s the next set of 10 angel poems out of my 40 poems in my Soaring Wings 2 chapbook, when I’ll round out the last 12 from that series next month. Stay tuned, keep commenting and sharing my poetry hubs however you like.

Feel protected with God's legions of angels every day

Two Angels and God's Angels

Two Angels

If God were to send two angels to Earth,
They would have a duty to serve to Him,
When we all wish to have one of our own,
When they’re there for us in day or night.

One would be there to occupy a throne,
May it be in a royal pearly kingdom,
He or she would take over for Him in his leave,
And serves His kingdom of saints and angels.

The other would be to clean a road,
Keep it clean from litter and garbage,
Maybe make sure to have domestic peace,
And serve God there while waiting for others.

They would each regard their employments,
May it be in Heaven’s sky or on earthly ground,
It would be as equally distinguishing for God,
And also equally happy for everyone around here.

Angel thought #87: “If God were to send two angels to
earth, the one to occupy a throne, and
the other to clean a road, they would each
regard their employments as equally
distinguished and equally happy.”—Frederick William Faber

God’s Angels

The angel of the Lord encamps in this world,
Overseeing all of His nation’s boys and girls,
As He surrounds and be around those who fear Him,
That if they give in, their holy chances will be slim.

If His believers are good, and not give in to sin,
Promises of eternity will triumph and win,
And those who are fallen to temptation’s forbidden fruit stem,
Then it would be for God’s choice to ban and deliver them.

Angel thought #33: The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.—Psalm 34:7

Heavenly Music and Holy Advice

Heavenly Music

Open your hearts, and get ready to embrace the sound,
Angel voices of mixed ranges, ever singing His praise,
It won’t be pitched so high to break glass,
But sends a shiver down the spine with warmth.

Heavenly music goes around the throne of light,
In night, beams from the stars and moon fall down,
And angel harps played magically, forever ringing their songs,
For they rest not day nor night for the world to hear.

Angel thought #7: “Angel voices, ever singing,
Round Thy throne of light;
Angel harps, forever ringing,
Rest nor day nor night.”—Francis Pott

Holy Advice

Whenever you’re alone, in trouble, and need to be bolder,
Or the need for someone to turn to,
Just imagine invisible fingers on your shoulder,
Angels will always be there for you.

Angels are full of warmth and joy,
There’s plenty to go around for every girl and boy,
They always say the same thing-
“Don’t be afraid”, as a feather falls from a wing.

Inspirational passage: {Angels are full of
warmth and joy,] and
they always say the
same thing—Don’t be afraid.—Soppy Burnham

Heavenly Philosophy and Tents for Angels

Heavenly Philosophy

If an angel were to tell us anything,
It would have to be on his philosophy,
For we would believe many propositions,
And it would sound like two times two equal thirteen.

Strange as it may sound from angels to humans,
Spiritual souls won’t clash and collide with us,
Their mathematics won’t make sense to us humans too,
But after hearing it, it might sound good.

Inspirational quote: “If an angel were to tell us
anything of his philosophy
I believe many propositions would like 2 times
2 equals 13.”—G.C. Lichtenberg

Tents for Angels

There are who, like the seer of old,
Live in the back-country and are so bold,
And can see the helpers God have sent,
And it’s also white with many an angel tent.

They’re like a group of birds all together,
You’ll know it’s there with a fallen feather,
And they know how life’s rugged mountainside,
Trains them for courage, knowledge, and no pride.

Angel thought #11:
Angel Tents
“There are who, like the Seer of Old,
Can see the helpers God hath sent,
and how life’s rugged mountain side
Is While with many an angel tent.”—John Greenleaf Whittier

Eden's Words and Seraphic Masks

Eden’s Words

Be careful, on what you might do or say,
Words are mighty, words are living,
It could be hurtful, if said nasty,
Or complimentary uplifting, if said in pleasantness.

Like in the Garden of Eden, serpents with their venomous stings,
Be careful, if tempted by sins of the forbidden fruit,
If you abide by God’s rules and sermons and virtues,
You won’t be tossed out by your own utopia world of paradise.

He or bright angels, here on Earth or in Eden, crowding around us,
Protecting us from evil, fighting demons in Hell,
Every day and every night’s a battle with the dark side,
Choose humility over greed in every day.

Never fear the darkness, when God’s here,
Feel the warmth with Heaven’s light upon their wings,
When night falls, never fear the light,
Just know, that the force might be with you.

Angel thought #36: “Words are mighty, words are living,
Serpents with their venomous stings,
Or bright angels, crowding round us,
With heaven’s light upon their wings.”—Adelaide A. Proctor

Seraphic Masks

There’s many faces of seraphs in visibility,
But all God’s angels come to us disguised:
Sorrow and sickness, poverty and death,
Whatever nature throws us and to them, they’ll be there.

One after another left their frowning masks,
Those four things we all don’t want to eyewitness,
And we behold the seraph’s mask beneath,
For those seraphic masks are on the ground.

They all wait for the Apocalypse and Armaggeddon,
Knowing it’s the works of the Four Horsemen from Hell,
They’re all radiant with the glory and the calm,
Of having looked up in the front of God.

Angel thought #41: “But all God’s angels come to us disguised,
Sorrow and sickness, poverty and death,
One after other lift their frowning masks,
And we behold the Seraphs’s face beneath,
All radiant with the glory and the calm,
Or having looked upon the front of God.”—James Russell Lowell

Careful Travels and Homely Guardian Angels

Careful Travels

For He will command His angels concerning you,
When His people, individually, always comes faith,
To guard you in all of our walks of life,
When crossing the crossroads on a fork in the road.

Angels will lift you up in their hands,
For God wants everyone to have careful travels,
So that you won’t strike your foot against a stone,
To protect you from falling and hurting all over.

Angel thought #15: “For he will command his angels
concerning you,
to guard you in all your ways,
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will no strike your foot
against a stone.”—Psalm 91:11, 12

Homely Guardian Angels

Our guardian angels protects us at home,
When they come for our aid for our family,
Looking over our children, spouses, family members and relatives,
As they be with us, that we may hear their wings.

Keeping us healthy for church, and marriages together,
As we hail, guardian angels of the House!
And if it falls apart, may we hope for a new love or reconciliation,
When they share with us our work and play.

No matter what our sexual preference or religion is,
We feel their breath upon our cheek,
May their guard us in all walks of life,
And if we’re far away, may they safely return us to our home.

Angel thought #18: “Hail, Guardian Angels of the House!
Come to our aid,
Share with is our work and play.
Be with us that we may hear your wings,
And feel your breath upon our cheek.”—Geoffrey Hodson

Side note

A couple of years ago at the Muse Online Conference I went to, I met a bunch of fellow poets at the poetry workshop. From there, we’ve formed the Poetic Muselings group and worked on compiling a chapbook of poetry with assorted themed. Each poet had four poems in the book. From there, we’ve also gotten a contract with an indie publisher and published this book via Createspace in 2011. If you're interesting on checking it out, it's called Lifelines which is available on Amazon.

Beautiful poems as everyone who has commented here has already said. I don't know what more I could possibly add. Angels are all around us and there to help us. We only have to ask -- and sometimes we don't have to ask . . . :) Voted up!

What beautiful poems. I love angels and believe they are with us all the time. I believe that they can even be transformed into physical beings as God wants them in order to do their job. Nothing is impossible with God. Thank you for your thoughts and beautiful poems. Voted up.

      Blessings to you.

Hi Christina. I never seen one in person, but only when I meditated last month, I saw them and my mom as an angel. I've written these poems after my grandfather died, a decade ago. I believe in God and angels. Not word from word, but from a book of angel thoughts and quotes in my previous hub, Soaring Wings, that I've used for prompts. Thanks for the comments.

Quite an understanding you have word for word from scripture about angels. But have you ever visually seen one? Beware that not all angels are for God's purpose. We have to know the Word of the Lord and speak it audibly to guard ourselves from the fallen ones. If you ask Him, the Lord can give you the wisdom to discern which angels are True.
