Soft white blankets .....A poem

Updated on November 12, 2013

She arrived without a call as usual
softly opening my door
And I thought yes its the lady I love
she comes around once more

Yet I pretended sleep while she
whispered a little tune
Through broken and moonlit clouds
I smiled at her gentle swoon

Then I moaned and shivered as she
draped a soft white blanket on my naked limbs
Cooing in the midnight air
she touched me to begin

We joined our midnight moments and
came together until the dawn
As she moaned and squealed softly away
I knew soon she would be gone

She always covers my naked flesh
in leaving..... I guess she cares you know?
But that's what happens in tristful storms
comes a low pressure and snow

Lovely sentiments and wonderful picture. That blanket of white will be here before you know it and soft snowflakes will fall. Enjoyed this Ed.

Nice work, Ed. Is she the one that always brings those aches and pains to my joints? :)

A lovely white blanket that lingers and glistens - yet leaves me frigid
