"Sometimes It's Just Snow" by Eric Wayne Flynn

"Sometimes It's Just Snow"

Sometimes it's just snow

Even words from Frost can fall short and numb

Flakes of beauty that evaporate on hot hoods

The wear of winter on every face

Bundled up for the fight

I pierce my ears with some sounds

Evans is tickling me with his touch

Changing my tune

I enjoy the fragile flakes fall from heaven

There is a metaphor here somewhere but who cares

Im going to set down my pen and watch the white

Evans will add to the scenery as children build men in our honor

I sip a hot drink

Sometimes it's just snow

I keep telling myself this, but I know better

This was a beautiful- easy read Eric. The words from the poem flowed like smooth silk. I was able to imagine myself sipping on a cup of coffee- by an open window, watching children build snowmen...A beautiful read and thanks for sharing.

Hey Jodah, thanks for the read... Bill Evans - piano player with Miles Davis, also great jazz solo piano, he popped on my shuffle when I was writing so ay I went with it and cut it short that day, ha, got to watch the snow more instead of thinking... And I love Frost too, still have to digest more of it I do.

In a poem titled "Sometimes It's Just Snow", the line, "Even words from Frost can fall short and numb' is so apt. By the way I love Robert Frost's poetry. But who is "Evans"?
