Song Lyrics - Fear Makes No Sound

Updated on October 10, 2011

When I’m alone
I think about words and rhymes
And write about what tomorrow may bring
But when you’re here
I can’t seem to think of anything
But you

I think I’m so smart
So clever too
But when you are here
My feelings make no sound

When I’m alone
I think about my life and times
And all the answers I hope to find
But when you’re here
I just seem to lose my mind
Because of you

I can’t think
I can’t talk
All I can do is stare
I want to say something
Maybe tell you how much I care
But my fears are letting me down
If I don’t say something soon
Our love will never make a sound

I look at what could be
And how I hold back
I want you to hear the music
But fear makes no sound

I can’t think
I can’t talk
All I can do is stare
I want to say something
Maybe tell you how much I care
But my fears are letting me down
If I don’t say something soon
Our love will never make a sound

Will you ever hear me
If fear makes no sound?
Will you?
Will you?
I guess it’s up to me

Let's see if I got this right? You've got Beyonce in your livingroom and your problem is? Sorry suburban poet, I couldn't resist. I love reading your poetry, I like your style. Regards, snakeslane

Maybe we would have to re-enact Cyrano de Bergerac and you can write the poem and I'll deliver it to her... of course... who gets her in the end?

@snakeslane - well if I got her in my place then I'd say I probably was on a roll anyway....

Good luck with that guys...I'm more interested in Jackson Browne or James Taylor, Leonard Cohen, Jacob Dylan, oh the list goes on and on...

Yes and I would become immediately silent, in awe, scared and just stare.

Well, don't stare. They hate starring. They do want to be looked at. Nice poem Suburban Poet, reminds me of a book title, something like, 'Now that you got me here, what are you going to do with me?', an age old question.

Sweet, you have a crush that you can't quite put into words. I would be that way around Johnny Depp, I'm afraid, although I don't think he sings. Cute poem, I loved it and could picture it made into a song. : )

@mckbirdbks & september girl - thank you for commenting! I think it's a situation where I'm not a guy who honks his car horn or walks up in a bar with a line. Instead it's more like, "She's so beautiful and I know I'm somebody she could fall in love with but I don't want to use a line." So it gets over-thought and paralysis sets in....
