Song Lyrics - What Are We?

Updated on September 6, 2011

I confuse you all the time I can see it on your face
The thing is you know me better than I do
I live without commitment so I'm ready for life
Still you sit quietly... waiting for me to call

I never know what it is that I really want
But you can tell it’s always about me
It’s just a matter of living a little longer
Trying not to hurt you... but knowing that I do

I want you to tell me
Tell me who I am
I can’t figure it out
So I’m asking you now

I can’t wait another moment for inspiration
You will wait a winter season for my kiss
It’s hard for me to accept what I’ve done
You are there for me... but I push for more

I want you to ask me
Ask me who I am
Can you figure it out?
I’m telling you now

You learned not to expect much which is your gift
Your smile is real and it’s always ready
And now I’m ready too and I’m at your door
As you decide... are you an hour or a lifetime?

I want you to tell me
Tell me what we are
I can’t figure it out
So I’m asking you now

What are we?
What are we?
What are we?

@QudsiaP1 - Sorry I took so long to comment; this is the middle ground of a feeling without commitment... how long will she let me stay in her life?

@PenMePretty - I need to write something that's just gusy love don't I? For some reason I'm not feeling it...

      @raciniwa - that's the dream someday.

@Lady_Tenaz - I decided not to put any rhymes on this one. I'm not sure if it sounds too cumbersome or not; but the message is there.... I might make it rhyme someday but that's how it came out and I left it that way. Hey! It rhymed! I keep hoping to meet a musician who will take up my songs. I have someone though who is about to release a CD who read my song "The Man He Used To Be" and he said, "I'm going to record this and I'll take care of it like you would want me to..." That was cool... To write songs you just have to figure out the chorus (the point of it all) and make the lines concise. Say it out loud and imagine singing it. Would it be hard for someone? That's what you have to do; but back to my original point; this one might be tough for someone...

You are like an endless fountain of lyrics and songs. I have written about 4 or 5 songs in my life but probably hundreds of poems. I wish I could write more songs, but I am happy I can at least rhyme lol. HUGS! good job my friend!
