Sparkles of Light

Updated on August 23, 2015

Clearing the snow at night

I see sparkles of light

I am grasped by the wonder

The world of silent snow

Depth and beauty peaceful and still

Magic and majestic

You start to thrill

To run and to role

To plunge like a child

My soul is set free

My thoughts are wild

The purity of love

that moulds to my grasp

The chill in my lungs

makes me gasp

Yet unravelling a carpet of

innocence and truth

I salute to you snow

you are part of my youth

I see the cat's footprints

or was it a dog

or the lines from a bird

I welcome you home

Snow has fallen for us

to remember wherever we

it's comforting blanket

may give us a chill

My child's sledge is gliding

down the slope of a hill

Enjoyed reading your poem and reliving those cold, cold days that are now only a memory.
