Speak to me in touches ........a poem

Updated on June 24, 2013

Whats the matter isn't it possible
that I should love to touch
A hug for listening so patiently
is that too much

As I drink this coffee the warmth
spreads though my hands
And in some other world
and in some other lands

The yearning of touch might simply
be returned
We are but a child reaching his arms up
from a need without being burned

And one child within learns an
importand lesson
Shouldn't we all learn to touch
thats my impression

And this new day with a hug for all
long long deserved
Speak to me in touches
and touch without reserve

I like this, Ed. Some have an aversion to touch, yet to many people it is just a natural emotional/psychological need. It is much like a child craving hugs and touches from a parent as a signal of affection.

Loved that. They did a study many years ago on babies in a hospital and the ones who had their needs met, but weren't touched, did terribly and the ones who were held and cuddled thrived. Touch is very important.

      Hi Ed,

We all need that human touch, well, because we are all human no doubt about it. I know a lot will say that they no not need it, but I believe we all need to feel that human touch, that human connection.

As for me, I am a big hugger. So, if I ever see you around, you can bet you will get a big hug from me, but that is just me. Again, I know a lot do not like to be hugged.

      Hugs and love, Faith Reaper

Who's got the problem Ed? Want me to handle it?

A hug is never too much to ask and what a concept... yes, I agree. Touching is not a bad thing and actions speak louder than words don't they? Sometimes a hug at just the right time, says all you need to hear.

      I love the ending too!

Well, here's a hug for yesterday, today and tomorrow!

      Hugs, hugs, hugs!
